Up and Coming
Caleb loves playing the guitar. He has been taking lessons since March from the middle school pastor at church, and he's coming along well. He does a pretty good job of practicing most days, and I think once school ends and homework is no longer taking so much of his time, guitar will take center stage. I hope he continues to play. I really think he is doing great in a short amount of time!

I Have to Believe
What an incredible night of worship! Rita Springer came to our church tonight and led us to the throne of God! We sing many of Rita Springer's songs at our church, and it was a blessing to have her there to lead us in person. This woman truly has an anointing to cut through the busyness and clutter of our lives and bring us back to the feet of Jesus. I am thankful for her rawness and transparency, that allows me to be real before God with who I am. If you haven't had the opportunity to experience her music, I highly recommend it to all!

My heart is heavy
Here's a story about as tragic as it gets. It happened late yesterday. What do you say when something this tragic and senseless happens? Let's stand with the Chapman family in prayer.

Steven Curtis Chapman's youngest child died Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a car driven by her teenage brother in the driveway of the family's Williamson County home.
Maria, one of the Christian singer's six children, was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Hospital, which confirmed the death, according to Laura McPherson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The 5-year-old was hit by an SUV driven by her teenage brother, she said. Police did not give the driver's name.
The teen was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser down the driveway of the rural home at about 5:30 p.m. and several children were playing in the area, McPherson said. He did not see Maria in the driveway before the vehicle struck her, she said.
"It appears to be a terrible accident,'' McPherson said.
No charges are expected, she said. The accident was witnessed by two other children; the entire family was home at the time, McPherson said.
Singer/songwriter Chapman, who recently was inducted into Music City Walk of Fame, is one of contemporary Christian music's most recognizable and most awarded names.
He and his wife Mary Beth have long been supporters of international adoption, having brought three girls from China into their family. Maria was the youngest.
The couple is so active in the cause that they formed an organization, Shaohannah's Hope, to aid families wanting to adopt.

Gotta love it
Springtime in Colorado. Yesterday was 76 degrees, sunny and beautiful. Today was Maddie's field day at school. All the activities planned, water games and popsicles ready to go. We woke up to a cold front. As I drove to school for all the festivities, the thermometer read 36 degrees, with wind and snow flying in the air. But this is Colorado! A little snow won't stop us! So, the games went on. The water games were altered a bit, but those kids still enjoyed their popsicles!

Can I just say....
I am so blessed! I was reflecting this morning on how undeserving I am of the goodness God has shown me. My four children bring daily challenges and stress, but that is FAR outweighed by the joy and blessing they bring. Thank You, Father, for your grace and love. I'll never comprehend it, but I am forever grateful and humbled because of it!I can't go without mentioning my own mom and how thankful I am for her. She has gone from mom to friend over the years, and I love her with all my heart! I understand the depth of her sacrifice now that I am a mother - Thank you, Mom!
Yesterday was also Double Digits day for Mi. Thanks, Uncle D and Aunt T, for the yummy ice cream cake! Nothing beats Maggie Moos!
OK, one last thing. I just had to post my Mothers Day cards, homemade by the kids. Technology has changed things, now I get cards made on the computer. I still love them, though!

Double Digits!
Happy 10th Birthday, Mooky! You're smile has always lit up any room you're in. Your generous spirit challenges your Dad and I to give more freely. You have never seen a stranger, only friends you haven't met, yet. The sky's the limit, Buddy, and we can't wait to see where you go and how high you soar!

Our Teenager
I am behind in getting this posted, but better late than never. We had a wonderful time celebrating Nathan with two parties. The first was a family party. Bob's parents and my parents were all able to come. I had asked men in Nate's life to send a special blessing, letter or prayer to him, and we read them to him that day. It was incredible to hear the words spoken over him, and to know all the people that are praying for him and making an impact in his life. We are so blessed! Nate had a blast at his sleep-over party with 6 of his buddies. We went to Skate City, then back home for food, soda, movies, Wii, air hockey, flashlight tag, etc. They had so much fun!
This is a special slideshow, in honor of our boy. We love you, Nate, and are so proud of the man you are becoming.

Rough Night
It all started when Mi wasn't hungry for dinner. That' not at all like him. By the time he was going to bed, he was moaning and crying saying his stomach hurt. What do you do for a tummy ache? I prayed for him, then told him to try to sleep. He fell asleep quickly, and all seemed well again. Not so. I was putting laundry in the kids room, about to go to sleep around 10:00, when Mi ran past me in the hallway, moaning once again. He ran straight into the bathroom, where he proceeded to lay down on his back on the bathroom rug, moaning all the while. The moaning suddenly changed, and I knew what was coming. I began saying, "Mi, do you feel like you need to throw up? Mi, get up, get up!!" Too late. In all my 13 years of parenting, I have never, ever experienced anything like what happened next. Two words: Volcanic eruption. I am not exaggerating. Straight up into the air, and right back down, all over the poor child. Face, hair, eyes, ears, all covered, as well as the wall, rug, bathtub, etc. In horror, I grabbed him up from the floor (I was sure he would aspirate it all). We weren't done, yet. Again, he started. At this point, I did what any mother would do...I screamed, "Bob, HELP!!!!" After an hour of showering, scrubbing everything in sight, and disinfecting, we finally all fell in bed. Off to blissful sleep. Not so fast. At 1:00 a.m. I hear a whimper at the door.
Mi: "Mom, I did it again."
Me: "In the bathroom?"
Mi: "No, in my bed."
Me: (speechless)
The process began again. This time, it included all of the bedding, the carpet, the rug, C's guitar, pillows, you name it. Can I just say, I was so tempted to take pictures in the midst of all of this, as I was sure no one could imagine just how unbelievable all of this was. Of course, I don't think Mi would've appreciated that, and I'm sure it crosses some kind of line in blogging etiquette. Suffice it to say, you had to see it to believe it. Thankfully, that was the last of it. He stayed home from school today, but was as chipper as can be.
And we slept great the rest of the night (until the dog began howling to go out around 3:00 a.m......)
